Healesville Sanctuary, Australia's premier wildlife park is nestled in the foothills of the Yarra Valley, just one hour from Melbourne. Showcasing over 200 species of Australian wildlife, the lovely park is renowned as the best place to view Australian wildlife in its native habitat.

The Sanctuary features large walk-through habitat exhibits, flight aviaries and nocturnal exhibits that are well displayed to show the wonderful natural behaviour of Australian wildlife. New to the Sanctuary are the purpose built BHP Biliton Platypusary showcasing the art of platypus care and breeding and the world-first Australian Wildlife Health Centre, a working veterinary hospital offering uninhibited views into the journey of animal rescue, rehabilitation and release.

Other highlights include the dynamic and interactive Meet the Keeper presentations scheduled regularly throughout the day and the many Animal Close-ups that offer visitors the opportunity to get closer than ever thought possible to Australia's remarkable wildlife.

The Sanctuary's spectacular Birds of Prey flight presentation is a must-see event where visitors are treated to a thrilling aerial display by the likes of the Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle and Peregrine Falcon demonstrating their magnificent flight and hunting skills.

Experienced Sanctuary Guides offer a free volunteer guide service between 10.30am and 3.30pm. On-site caterers provide a range of catering and event options with a focus on Yarra Valley food and wine.

Koalas, kangaroos, wombats, emus, dingoes and platypus are just a few of the 200 species of Australian wildlife for visitors to discover, in a beautiful bushland setting of towering gum trees and lush green ferns.

Visitors can join a free guided tour for a one-hour journey of discovery that will bring them closer than ever before to some of Australia's unique and extraordinary wildlife.

Birds of Prey Flight Presentation
Healesville Sanctuary's spectacular Birds of Prey flight presentation is a must-see event. Visitors are treated to a thrilling aerial display by the likes of the Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle and Peregrine Falcon demonstrating their magnificent flight and hunting skills. Presentations are held daily at 12:00 pm & 2:30 pm. Presentation time is approximately 20 minutes.

BHP Biliton Platypusary
Visitors can discover the hidden world of the platypus pools, secret tunnels, digging mounds, sleeping and nesting chambers, whilst enjoying all the behind-the-scenes action of this intriguing animal.

Australian Wildlife Health Centre
The new Australian Wildlife Health Centre is a working veterinary hospital offering visitors an unforgettable, uninhibited view into the journey of animal rescue, rehabilitation and release.

Entry provides access to all daily presentations and allows visitors to self-guide their time through the Sanctuary.
